Synthetic Teak Deck for ‘Feraxvini’ by MCP Marine

Running slightly later than usual, October’s deck of the month is ‘Feraxvini’ – a 1995 Valkkruiser 1250ak.

Built in 1995 at Stevens Boatyard, she was a popular model and suitable for families due to her spacious layout. Today she’s the perfect place for her owners, Mr & Mrs Ackroyd, to live-aboard when they’re in the UK.

Mr Ackroyd, bought her six months ago and says she was ‘unloved and in need of an overhaul’.  He chose synthetic teak decking as part of the refurbishment and opted for Dek-King in ‘Weathered’ with black caulking. Mr Ackroyd explained that he thought the colour best suited the age of the boat and contrasted very well with the overall trim of the boat – Feraxvini has beautiful black stainless steel windows.  We would have to agree with Mr Ackroyd’s colour choice; we think it looks stunning!

‘Feraxvini’ is Latin and roughly translates to fruity wine – we wish Mr & Mrs Ackroyd many pleasant glasses of wine whilst relaxing on the decks of their beautiful boat!
